MOSCOW, 17 September (BelTA - TV BRICS) - Minsk Days will be held in
Moscow from 18 to 21 September. The Republic of Belarus remains one of
the key partners of the Russian capital: in 2024 and 2025, the country
ranks fourth in terms of foreign trade turnover among foreign partners.
The volume of trade exceeded US$22 billion, which is 7 per cent more
than in 2023.
The grand opening will take place at the Moscow
International Performing Arts Centre. The concert programme will feature
performances by the National Presidential Orchestra of Belarus, the
"Khoroshki" dance ensemble, the "Kupalynka" folk group, the "Pesnyary"
music ensemble, and other artists.
An important part of the Days
of Minsk will be a meeting between Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin and
Minsk City Executive Committee Chairman Vladimir Kukharev. They will
discuss new opportunities for cooperation between the capitals of the
two countries.
There will also be round tables on the development
of tourism, youth policy and social protection of the population.
Sports events are also planned – teams of boys and girls from the
capitals of the two countries will play table tennis.
The BRICS
and BRICS+ countries are keen to develop educational projects. In Laos,
for example, work is currently underway to open the first Russian
school, whose graduates will be able to obtain a double certificate.
Now, an agreement on international cooperation will be signed between schools in Minsk and Moscow.
An
exhibition and fair will be held on Tverskaya Square. Guests will be
treated to products from Minsk manufacturers, an entertainment programme
and a fair selling tourist tours to Belarus.
Last year, Sergey
Sobyanin and Vladimir Kukharev agreed to hold regular Days of Minsk in
Moscow and Days of Moscow in Minsk. These events strengthen ties between
the capitals.
