Iran’s wushu fighter named world’s top Taolu player

ISFAHAN, 30 April (BelTA - IRNA) - Shahin Banitalebi, an Iranian athlete, was selected as the best Taolu practitioner globally in 2025 by the International Wushu Federation's voting process.

Banitalebi became “World's Top Taolu Player” in the World Wushu Federation's voting for 2025.

At the end of the 2025 calendar year, the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) introduced candidates for the best wushu athletes of the year.

With the official announcement by the IWUF, the world's best wushu athletes for 2025 were named after a public vote.

Accordingly, after the IWUF Athletes Committee reviewed the performances of the candidates for Best Wushu Athlete of the Year, Banitalebi was nominated for the Best Taolu Player of 2025 award.

Following a public vote and despite fierce competition from Chinese taolu athletes, Banitalebi was named the world's top taolu player for 2025.

In 2025, Banitalebi won a gold medal at the Chengdu World Games and a bronze medal at the World Wushu Championships.
