First Damascus International Marathon concluded

DAMASCUS, 14 November (BelTA - SANA). - The Damascus International Marathon conclude with participation of runners from 15 countries.

The marathon, which was organized by the Syrian Olympic Committee in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, set off in front of Dama Rose Hotel at a distance of 42.195 km.

The Syrian runner Samer al-Samir won the first place for a distance of 42 km with a time of 3.11 hours, leaving the runner-up to the Swiss Alexander Shires with a time of 3.22 hours then the Polish Piotr Bojka with 3.29 hours, while

the US runner Sarah Paul won the woman category for this stage, recording a time of 4.5 hours .

Athletes from the United States, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Finland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Hungary, France, Germany, Slovakia and Ireland, as well as Syria, participated in the event.
