Chaudhry Salik, Belarus Minister sign MoU for Pakistanis employment

ISLAMABAD, 28 August (BelTA - APP) - Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Belarus Minister for Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov on Wednesday signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding cooperation in field of labour and employment for Pakistanis in Belarus.

Under the MoU, a comprehensive framework will be devised to protect the rights of Pakistani workers in Belarus and labour will avail the employment opportunities in the textile, energy and construction sectors initially, said a press release on Wednesday.

As per the agreement, labour mobility corridors will be established for the training and recruitment of Pakistani skilled workers and pilot programs to be launched for professional and linguistic training of Pakistanis for employment in Belarus.

Migrant Resource Centers will be set up to make the process of employment abroad effectively and selected Pakistani workers will be able to go an accompanied by their families in Belarus. A joint technical group will be established between Pakistan and Belarus to implement the MoU.

Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis Aun Chaudhry, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry were also present on the occasion.

Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain stressed that Pakistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of workforce provision and collaboration between relevant institutions of Pakistan and Belarus will provide employment to Pakistanis there.
He said that workforce can be provided to Belarus in the sectors of healthcare, construction, textile, and energy. The minister apprised that effective measures are being taken with the support of the Ministry of Interior and other institutions to stop illegal immigration.
