Harvesting lotus seeds in China's Jiangsu Province
SIHONG, 19 August (BelTA - Xinhua) - Farmers from in Sihong County, east China's Jiangsu Province, have begun harvesting lotus seeds on Hongze Lake. Lotus seeds, which contain large amounts of protein, B vitamins and minerals, are used in Asian cuisine and traditional medicine.
