Preferences granted to import LED modules for LED lamps to Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan
MOSCOW, 27 April (BelTA) – The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has decided to grant a tariff preference in the form of an exemption from the payment of import customs duties on certain types of LED modules intended for manufacturing LED lamps, the EEC trade bloc told BelTA.
Under the tariff preference up to 38 million LED modules may be imported for Belarus, up to 30 million for Kazakhstan, and up to 23 million for Kyrgyzstan. This customs and tariff regulation measure will be in effect through 30 June 2028.
“The decision is aimed at providing assistance to LED lamp manufacturers of the Eurasian Economic Union, ensuring import substitution of end products as well as reducing the cost of finished goods and increasing their competitiveness,” commented Andrey Slepnev, Member of the EEC Board (Minister) in charge of Trade.
In his words, the tariff preference will be granted if a document issued by an authorized executive body confirming the intended use of the goods is presented.
At the same time the EEC Board gave instructions to consider the matter of increasing the import customs duty rates on LED lamps from 0% to 5% of the customs value at the next session of the EEC Board.
