Potential of Belarus' petrochemical industry presented in Baku

MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – The potential of Belarus' petrochemical industry is presented at the international oil and gas industry expo Caspian Oil & Gas in Baku, BelTA learned from representatives of the Belarusian enterprise BelInterExpo.

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev visited the Belarusian exposition on 29 May. Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan Gennady Akhramovich informed the head of state about the products on display.

The Belarusian oil refinery Naftan and its branch Polymir Plant put on display various oils and lubricants, acrylic fibers, and all the available types of polyethylene. Mozyr Oil Refinery demonstrated several kinds of gasoline and diesel fuel, furnace fuel, oil bitumen, hydrocarbon liquefied fuel gases, and environmentally friendlier kerosene. The Belarusian company Polotsk-Steklovolokno is one of the CIS' leading manufacturers of glass fiber and derivative products. The company demonstrated roving, chopped fiber, and constructional glass-fiber mats, which are used as reinforcing components to make composite materials. The company also presented silica fabrics, which can handle temperatures in excess of 1,000C, chemical reagents, acids, and alkalis.

The exposition of products by companies of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim was organized by the BelInterExpo enterprise of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with assistance of the Belarusian embassy in Azerbaijan.

Caspian Oil & Gas 2019 is scheduled to take place in Baku on 29 May – 1 June. Every year the expo gathers over 300 companies from 30 countries. The expo features equipment, services, and innovative technologies for extracting oil and transporting energy resources, for making and purifying fuel, and raw materials for chemical industry.
