PM: Belarus' major industrial enterprises operate steadily

MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – All large industrial enterprises of the country operate steadily, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said during a meeting with deputies of the House of Representatives and members of the Council of the Republic in the Oval Hall, BelTA has learned.

"All large industrial enterprises are operating well. In October, the production of trucks increased by 86%, rock haulers - by 22%, tractors - by 7%, buses - by 5%, elevators - by 43%, electric engines and generators - by 8%, chemical fibers - by 11%, cellulose - by 22%," Roman Golovchenko said.

According to him, the financial results of enterprises are improving. "In January-September, revenue surged by 10.6% year-on-year, overpacing the increase in production costs. Profit from sales increased by 22.8%, net profit - by 12.2% (amounted to Br14 billion). Return on sales - 8.9%. These are the best indicators over the past seven years," the prime minister emphasized.

The head of government noted that the debt burden of enterprises has been reduced. "The ratio of total debt to revenue today is 48.1%. The share of unprofitable organizations decreased to a minimum of 13.2%," he said.
