Industry ministry optimistic about car production in Belarus-Russia Union State

MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) – We see great prospects for car production in the Union State of Belarus and Russia, Belarusian Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov told the media, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Yefimov emphasized that the plans to ramp up car production in Belarus meet the market needs and goals. "Our joint market is large enough to absorb car production capacities both in our country and in Russia," he said.

According to the minister, the Union State car market is quite large. Over 1.5 million new cars are sold annually.

“If we consider all our existing car capacities, they will be able to produce a bit more than a half of this volume. This shows that the development of car production has a great promise," Aleksandr Yefimov said.
