Hi-Tech Park expected to contribute more to digital economy in Belarus

MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas visited the Hi-Tech Park on 1 March, the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA.

Prospects of developing Belarus' high-tech industry were discussed as well as the strategy for digitizing the country as a whole. The possibility of Hi-Tech Park resident companies contributing more to the digitization of the Belarusian economy was mentioned, including the implementation of specific projects and the development of an overall strategy for digitizing the country. Vsevolod Yanchevsky, Director of the state institution Hi-Tech Park Administration, mentioned a number of new ideas and initiatives of the Hi-Tech Park regarding the development of education in Belarus.

Today the Hi-Tech Park is a powerful center of competence in the spheres of artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, a place where laser and optic systems are created as well as medical and outer space devices and tools. The world's largest corporations are among the Hi-Tech Park's clients. Thanks to a massive increase in export by Hi-Tech Park companies in the last two years Belarus became one of the main IT clusters in Eastern Europe. The Hi-Tech Park is a world leader in terms of export growth rate.
