Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meets in Nesvizh

NESVIZH, 4 June (BelTA) - A meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council with the participation of Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko was held in Nesvizh on 3 June, BelTA has learned.

"I ask my esteemed colleagues to pay more attention to the substantive issues of the development of the Eurasian Economic Union, the implementation of essential economic cross-cutting projects. I am convinced that only through joint efforts will we be able to ensure further qualitative growth of Eurasian integration in the interests of our states," Roman Golovchenko said.

The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council reviewed the EEC annual report on the state of competition in cross-border markets and measures to prevent violations of the general rules of competition in 2023. Development of transport infrastructure in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union in the East-West and North-South directions, the alignment with China’s Belt and Road Initiative was high on the agenda. Other topics included the status of the plan of priority measures to digitalize freight rail transportation in the EAEU and the measures envisaged in the section "Digitalization of transport corridors" of the plan (roadmap) for the development of trade and economic cooperation between the EAEU and China of 16 February 2023.

A meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council with the participations of delegations will be held on 4 June. Following the meeting, the parties are set to sign documents on cooperation.

As it has been reported, the heads of government of the EAEU member states took part in the plenary session "Food Security of the Eurasian Economic Union” at the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. The prime ministers laid flowers at the Mound of Glory memorial and visited the Belagro 2024 international exhibition.
