EDB: Belarus’ real wages continue to show steady growth

MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Real wages in Belarus increased by 6.3% in January 2026, following a 6.1% increase in December 2025, BelTA learned from the macro review of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

“The main driver was an 8.8% increase in the base pay rate, which determines wages in the public sector. As a result, wages in state-funded organizations rose by 9.8% in January 2026, following 10.5% growth the previous month,” analysts noted.

The EDB expects that continued steady growth in real wages will remain an important factor supporting consumer activity in Belarus’ economy throughout 2026.
