EAEU anti-monopoly watchdogs meet in Brest

MOSCOW, 22 October (BelTA) – Brest played host to a 5+1 meeting of the heads of the anti-monopoly watchdogs of the states members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Member of the Board (Minister) for Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Maksim Yermolovich, BelTA learned from the EEC press service.

The agenda included the positions of the EAEU national anti-monopoly authorities on revising the existing criteria for defining a cross-border market, and expertise mechanisms in cases concerning violations of common competition rules. “The parties also reviewed the fulfillment of the Commission’s request to carry out certain procedures as part of the investigation and review of cases involving breaches of common competition rules on EAEU cross-border markets,” the press service said.

The participants exchanged views on compiling market lists for 2026 competition assessments and sectoral research, and on establishing their selection criteria. “The selection of markets for research will be completed by the end of 2025, and we will start working on them at the beginning of next year,” the EEC minister said.
