Presenting the potential of Belarus’ southeastern region, Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Ivan Krupko mentioned direct ties between the regions at the level of businesses as the foundation of trade and economic cooperation between the two states. “We are intent on constructive interaction in all areas of current interest. I am convinced that the forum will produce tangible results for all participants and will launch new mutually beneficial projects,” the head of the Gomel Oblast administration emphasized.

The main exporters to Uzbekistan today include Rechitsadrev and Gomeldrev, Turov Dairy Industrial Complex, Rogachev Canned Milk Plant, Rechitsa Hardware Plant, Svetlogorsk Pulp and Cardboard Mill, and other companies. Potential exporters also presented their products at the forum.

As a result of the forum cooperation agreements were signed between the chambers of commerce and industry of Gomel Oblast and Tashkent Oblast as well as 13 documents, including commercial agreements, worth a total of $7.5 million.

Before the forum began, Ivan Krupko met with Elbek Gaffarov, Navoiy Oblast Deputy Governor for Investment. The leaders discussed plans for trade and economic cooperation between the regions of the two countries.

Ivan Krupko also invited partners from Uzbekistan to the Gomel Economic Forum.
