Cooperation with foreign partners named priority for Bellegprom

MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) - Earlier, Belarusian enterprises sold their products primarily through wholesalers and dealers, while now the priority is to develop cooperation chains and establish closer contacts with partners, Chairwoman of the Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom Tatiana Lugina said in an interview to the Economy of Belarus Magazine, BelTA has learned. 

“We are doing quite well in this regard in Uzbekistan and some regions of Russia. For example, in October last year Zhodino-based Svitanak started delivering stabilized knitted fabric there. The fabric was knitted on its equipment, dyed in line with national technical requirements and the Customs Union technical regulations, using its patterns and designs. Upon arriving in Uzbekistan, this fabric is used to make clothing items under the guidance of Belarusian technological services and returned to us or sold on the local market and Russia,” Tatiana Lugina said. 

Milavitsa, Kalinka, Slavyanka, and Orsha Linen Mill use the same operation models. The give-and-take manufacturing scheme comes from the shortage of seamstresses in Belarus. 

“Skilled seamstresses need to be engaged in the manufacturing of more labor-intensive and complex assortment, such as coats, suits and dresses. Simpler designs such as tops, linen knitwear, skirts, and pants can be made under tolling contracts,” Tatiana Lugina added. Most importantly, partners from Uzbekistan and Russia are showing a keen interest in this cooperation.
