Bellegprom's knitwear export up by 8.4% up in Q1 2020

MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – Export of knitting companies affiliated with the Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom totaled $36.5 million (108.4% as against the same period of last year), BelTA learned from Bellegprom's press service.

An increase in export over Q1 2019 was reported by the following companies: Conte Spa (111%), Brest Stocking Mill, Vyasnyanka, Baranovichi Sewing Factory, Kupalinka (125%), 8 Marta (149%), Bobruisktrikotazh (225%), Sewing Firm Younona (107%), Motex (645%), Belarusian Fashion Center (132%), and Romgil (150%).

“We have accessed new markets: in Q1 2020, products of knitting industry enterprises were shipped to 20 countries (18 in 2019). Export to Russia, Germany, Moldova, Poland, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, and Latvia increased, in some cases manifold. Supplies of knitwear to Kazakhstan went up by 2.6 times and to Uzbekistan – by 3.2 times,” the press service noted.

Export of garments to Uzbekistan surged by more than nine times, to Kyrgyzstan – by more than three times, the UK – by 2.4 times.
