Belarusian winter triticale seeds show strong yields in Georgia

MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Winter triticale seeds developed by Belarusian breeders have demonstrated strong yields and high germination rates in Georgia, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

The supply and sowing of elite seeds of the Dynamo variety were carried out by the national association Belsemena. “Following last year’s visit to Georgia, a plot of more than 100 hectares was selected on the fields of a local agricultural enterprise for sowing the supplied elite seeds, and consultations on cultivation technology were provided. Today, the Dynamo variety is showing unprecedented yields and germination, confirming its suitability for Georgia’s geographic conditions,” the ministry noted.

Belarusian specialists continue to provide professional support for the cultivation of the crop, including the establishment of demonstration fields for various agricultural crops, as well as laying out demonstration plots with Belarusian seed varieties to assess their economic and agronomic potential in the region.

“Demonstration plots serve as a practical platform for evaluating the potential of a variety, collecting data on its performance in new conditions, and promoting the national Made in Belarus brand in the agricultural sector of the South Caucasus. This is an important stage in developing international cooperation in seed production and confirms the high competitive potential of Belarusian agricultural science,” the ministry emphasized.
