MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) is ready to organize assembly production of BELARUS compact tractors in Algeria, MTZ Director General Sergei Avramenko said during a meeting with Youcef Cherfa, Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, MTZ’s press service told BelTA.

"Assembly production of BELARUS tractors in Algeria was established back in 2011. By 2015, more than 500 tractor assembly kits were delivered to the country. Later, this work was paused, and now we are highly interested in resuming assembly production. We are searching for a reliable partner. The Algerian side is actively engaging in discussions. We are exploring opportunities to assemble the BELARUS-152 compact tractors: such equipment is needed for farms and households. We are mulling over organizing assembly production for tractors of the 800 series and above, including energy-intensive ones," Sergei Avramenko said.

According to him, in addition to organizing assembly production, it is also planned to supply BELARUS equipment to third countries.
