MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Türkiye Viktor Rybak took part in the work of a delegation sent by the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian delegation attended international food expos that took place in Istanbul: WorldFood Istanbul 2022 and CNR Food Istanbul 2022. The delegation held a number of negotiations with Turkish and foreign companies.
As a result of the talks agreements were reached on considering cooperation matters of mutual interest.
Türkiye was the first foreign country to recognize Belarus' independence. Belarus-Türkiye diplomatic relations were established on 25 March 1992. A Turkish embassy was opened in Minsk in 1992 while a Belarusian embassy was opened in Ankara in 1997. Minsk and Ankara marked the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in March 2022.
