Belarus, Türkiye hold meeting of commission on international road transport

MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) - Another meeting of the Belarusian-Turkish mixed commission on international road transport was held in Istanbul, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Istanbul.
The Belarusian delegation was led by Andrei Gladky, Head of the Automobile and Urban Passenger Transport Department at the Transport Ministry, and the Turkish delegation was headed by Murat Baştor, Director General of Transportation Services Regulation of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

The event was opened by Belarusian Ambassador to Türkiye Anatoly Glaz. The representatives of the transport authorities reviewed the bilateral cooperation on the development of freight traffic between the two countries, exchanged relevant statistical information and discussed a possibility of launching an electronic permit system to improve the cargo flow process.
Following the joint work, the transport ministries of the two countries agreed on the quota of permits for international road freight transport for 2026.
According to the participants, the amendments to the Belarusian-Turkish intergovernmental agreement increasing the period of visa-free stay for drivers in the territories of the two countries, which entered into force on 30 January 2026, will give a impetus to transit and transport services.
