Belarus seeks to join BRICS New Development Bank

MINSK, 23 January (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation headed by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lukashevich has met with President of the BRICS New Development Bank Dilma Rousseff at the New Development Bank headquarters in Shanghai, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Belarusian delegation included representatives of the Finance Ministry and the Development Bank.
The parties discussed financial instruments used by BRICS, as well as the possibility of Belarus joining the BRICS New Development Bank.
Sergei Lukashevich also visited East China Normal University where he met with the administration, toured the Center for Belarusian Studies and discussed the interaction of the Center with Belarusian organizations.
