Belarus, Russia’s Tatarstan aim to surpass $1.5-2bn trade mark

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) - For Belarus, Tatarstan is not just one of Russia’s key regions, it is a reliable strategic partner, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich said during a meeting with Head of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, BelTA learned from the government press service.

“We greatly value our long-standing and fruitful cooperation. Most importantly, we are moving forward. We have many areas for interaction, and we are expanding them,” Viktor Karankevich said.

According to him, there is potential to surpass the $1.5-2 billion trade mark. “These are exactly the figures you discussed during your meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko back in 2023,” the deputy prime minister emphasized. “We should all strive for this.”

“The relationship between our leaders should serve as an example of how to be friends and how to support one another,” added Rustam Minnikhanov.
