Belarus, Russia mull over electric train manufacturing project

MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) – Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik met with Director General of the Russian mechanical engineering company Transmashholding Kirill Lipa to discuss the establishment of an electric train production facility in Baranovichi, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.

“The parties discussed in detail the current state and prospects for expanding long-term cooperation between Belarusian enterprises and organizations affiliated within the Transmashholding company. The meeting focused on a joint project to create an assembly facility for electric trains in Baranovichi, the production and supply of internal combustion engines from the Kolomna plant for BelAZ, and the deepening of industrial cooperation with the Belarusian company Technolit, which manufactures components and spare parts for various types of machinery,” the press service stated.
