MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Agriculture and Food Yuri Gorlov met with outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Belarus Batsukh Bayarsaikhan. The parties summed up the results of their joint work and discussed prospects for further interaction in agriculture and food security, the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food told BelTA.

The ministry noted that the agreements reached at the level of heads of state were being consistently implemented. Belarus is ready for prompt and constructive advancement of joint projects, particularly in the construction of dairy farms and product supplies.

“Such meetings always contribute to the development of relations between our countries. We are ready to act very promptly: if we propose something, it means we have all the necessary resources for the rapid and high-quality implementation of projects,” Yuri Gorlov emphasized.

The talks also focused on the dairy industry. Belarus, which exports 70% of the dairy products it produces, has considerable experience in this industry. The Mongolian side is already familiar with the quality of Belarusian powdered milk. Consideration is now being given to expanding the range of supplies to include butter and cheese, including soft varieties, which are gaining popularity as a premium product at an affordable price.

The minister expressed gratitude to the ambassador for the constructive dialogue and his contribution to strengthening bilateral cooperation, noting that the gained experience will facilitate further development of ties in the area of providing quality food products.

“Belarusian technologies, know-how in the agricultural industry and the enormous experience in implementing comprehensive measures to ensure food security are of great value to us. I am confident that new trade agreements will open up additional opportunities and growth drivers for our trade and economic relations,” Batsukh Bayarsaikhan stated.

The parties reaffirmed their mutual determination to continue working to implement the reached agreements. Belarus and Mongolia will step up their cooperation in agricultural technologies, experience exchange and development of export potential.
