MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Aleksandr Yakovchits and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus concurrently Hamdi Shaaban discussed ways of stepping up bilateral partnership in agribusiness while relying on the already established regulatory framework and existing trade flows, the Agriculture and Food Ministry press service told BelTA.

Egypt remains one of the key destinations for Belarusian agricultural exports in the Middle East and North Africa region. Access to this market has already been granted to 42 Belarusian dairy processing enterprises that have permission to supply. In 2025 the exports consisted of skimmed and whole milk powder, buttermilk, flour and confectionery products, and dried vegetables. Products are being shipped by leading industry enterprises, which confirms the trust of Egyptian partners in Belarusian quality.

“We are ready to multiply the supply of high-quality products. It is important that there is complete mutual understanding with the Egyptian side. Our common task now is to scale up successful practices and expand the product range,” noted Aleksandr Yakovchits.

During the conversation the sides discussed prospects of supplying powdered baby food and specialized dairy formulas to the Egyptian market. Enterprises are already conducting direct negotiations with counterparties: samples are being sent, and volumes and terms of new contracts are being agreed upon. The veterinary services of the two countries continue to accompany this process in a routine manner, working to improve the regulatory framework.

Hamdi Shaaban emphasized the value of the established format of interaction and stressed the interest in addressing problematic organizational matters at his level.

Egypt is interested in reliable partners, and Belarus fully meets this status. Product quality, responsibility in fulfilling obligations, and openness to dialogue are precisely the principles that allow moving forward and turning agreements into concrete commercial results.

The sides agreed to maintain regular contact at the diplomatic and business levels and to promptly address any matters that arise.
