MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Egypt are considering the establishment of direct interbank cooperation. This was discussed during a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Yevgeny Sobolevsky and Egyptian Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid Saleh, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties touched upon current issues of cooperation, including the schedule of visits to Belarus at the highest and high levels and meetings of the institutional bodies of bilateral cooperation.
"The parties paid special attention to the possibilities of increasing the Belarus-Egypt trade, including through establishing direct interbank cooperation, developing a dialogue between business structures, and implementing industrial cooperation projects in Egypt with possible assistance from the state," the press service of the ministry noted.
As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached to hold interbank consultations, as well as to consider relevant topics during the next meeting of the Belarus-Egypt joint trade commission, which will be held in Minsk in early May.
