Belarus, Armenia agree to produce elevators together

MINSK, 14 January (BelTA) – Belarus and Armenia have agreed on joint production of elevators, Belarus' Ambassador to Armenia Aleksandr Konyuk said in an interview to ArmInfo, BelTA has learned.

“We reached an agreement to launch the assembling of elevators in Armenia. Mogilev-made elevators made are already being installed in multi-storey buildings in Yerevan, because the Belarusian company won the tender announced by the Armenian capital's mayor's office in 2019. We hope to win the tender this year as well,” Aleksandr Konyuk said.

In his words, the parties consider it necessary to start joint assembly of elevators in Armenia, and ensure the maximum localization of production. “The other day I spoke with the management of Mogilevliftmash, and we discussed the setting up of an assembly facility here, in Armenia,” the ambassador said.

According to him, the Mogilev elevator maintenance service will soon be established in Yerevan. “We will start with the maintenance service, and continue with localization and assembly production,” the diplomat added.
