MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) – Türkiye plans to expand its cooperation with Belarus in agriculture, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Belarus Güçlü Cem Işik told journalists at an event for heads of diplomatic missions in Belarus on the agricultural sector, BelTA has learned.

“I am pleased to be here to learn more about Belarus’ agro-industrial complex and to identify prospects for cooperation. Your country understands the importance of agriculture and places strong emphasis on developing this sector,” the ambassador noted.

Türkiye remains an important partner for Belarus in the supply of food products and agricultural raw materials. A visit to Belarus by Türkiye’s agriculture and forestry minister is currently being arranged. It may take place during the international specialized exhibition Belagro in Minsk.

Online meetings between the ministers are also planned, during which the parties will discuss prospects for cooperation in the dairy and meat industries, as well as the introduction of modern technologies in agriculture.

In mutual trade, the two countries have surpassed the target of $1.5 billion set by their leaders. Despite global challenges, cooperation continues to show strong momentum.
