Yelizaveta Dorts wins 7th medal for Belarus in Buenos Aires

MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – Belarusian athlete Yelizaveta Dorts has won silver in the women's shot put at the 3rd Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.

Gold went to China's Xinhui Li (36.75m). Belarus' Yelizaveta Dorts was next best scoring a total of 35.13m.

After the competition the Belarusian athlete expressed frustration over her performance saying that she expected a better result. However, she was happy to win a medal.

This is Belarus' seventh medal at the 3rd Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires (1 gold medal, 3 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals). Another two medals were won by Belarusian athletes as part of international teams (1, 0, 1).

The Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires will conclude on 18 October.
