World-class cyclists to compete in Minsk on 22, 23, 25 June

MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) – World-class road cyclists will compete in the center of Minsk as part of the 2nd European Games on 22, 23 and 25 June, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian capital will welcome well-known athletes such as Alexander Evtushenko (Russia), Claire Faber (Luxemburg), Claudio Imhof (Switzerland), Samir Jabrayilov (Azerbaijan), Anna van der Breggen (Netherlands). Belarus will be represented by Vasil Kiriyenka, Alexandr Riabushenko and Alena Amialiusik.

The competitions will kick off in Oktyabrskaya Square: women at 12.30 on 22 June, men at 12.00 on 23 June. Individual races are scheduled for 25 June.

The traffic on 22, 23 and 24 June (practice sessions) and 25 June will be restricted.

The cycling program at the 2nd European Games will have four medal events. Four years ago in Baku Belarusian cyclists Vasil Kiryienka and Alena Amialiusik won two gold medals.
