MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – The World Athletics has presented an updated Olympic qualifying process for Tokyo next year, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
“The qualification of athletes for the Olympic Games will take place at official tournaments. Before 23 May 2021 the National Olympic Committees, which do not yet have qualified athletes, shall apply for participation in competitions. This pertains to the marathon and 50km race walk. For the rest of the competitions, the deadline for applications is 21 June,” the NOC explained.
The World Athletics will publish the world rankings of athletes and those qualified for the Games on 1 July 2021.
The National Olympic Committees will have to submit applications of athletes, who go to Tokyo, on 2-5 July.
