MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – The International Amateur Athletic Federation (World Athletics) is ready to hold competitions without spectators, Inside the Games cited World Athletics President Sebastian Coe as saying.
All the international competitions were suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. According to Sebastian Coe, in the mid-term competitions can be held without fans. He added that it can be a compromise to hold competitions for the sake of athletes, to finish the leagues and championships.
An outbreak of the novel coronavirus was recorded in Central China in late 2019 in Central Chi. Later on the infection spread to most countries and was recognized by the World Health Organization as a pandemic. More than 4.6 million people have been infected worldwide and more than 300,000 deaths have been recorded.
