Vytoki festival kicks off in Baranovichi

BARANOVICHI, 3 June (BelTA) - President of the NOC of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko presented a certificate for Br100,000 for the development of physical culture and sports to Baranovichi during a ceremony to launch the sports and cultural festival "Vytoki. A Step Toward the Olympus” in the city, BelTA has learned.

"As we know, all railways lead to Baranovichi. So our festival locomotive has arrived in your city. We make this holiday together," Viktor Lukashenko said.

He thanked the residents of the city for their hospitality and advised them to visit all the sites of the festival. "Maybe some of children will find their favorite sport and devote their lives to it and we will see him in sports arenas someday," the head of the NOC noted.

Viktor Lukashenko presented a cash certificate for the development of the city physical culture and sports to Baranovichi Mayor Mikhail Batsenko. The mayor thanked the head of the NOC for brining the holiday to Baranovichi.

The opening ceremony, which took place in the central square of the city, was preceded by an Olympic race, which brought together about 500 young athletes under the age of 9. The start of the race was given by the Olympic champion in kayaking and canoeing Andrei Bahdanovich.

The Olympic quest kicked off after the opening ceremony. Everyone under the age of 14 had the opportunity to take part in sports competitions, test their capabilities in various sports, complete tasks and receive valuable prizes. Activities were organized across 50 locations.
