NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
BREST, 2 June (BelTA) - The sports and cultural festival "Vytoki. A Step towards the Olympus” will be held in Baranovichi this weekend, BelTA has learned.
Already in its third season, the project the National Olympic Committee has moved from Zhlobin to Baranovichi, one of the largest regional centers of Belarus. For two days, residents and guests of the city will enjoy a bright program full of various events and activities.
On the first day of the festival, a press tour will be organized for the national and regional media with a visit to the most iconic places of Baranovichi District. Journalists will visit the Railway Museum and the largest zoo-landscape park in Belarus which is home to more than 100 species of ornamental birds and rare animals and to more than 80 species of trees and shrubs.
Also on 2 June, the city will host seminars on Olympic education for sports industry specialists. An artistic drawing interactive event “Play and draw with us” organized by the ArtHaos gallery will start at 16.30 in the park named after the 30th anniversary of the Komsomol (Molodoi Park). The theme of the contest is space. In the evening, the audience will enjoy a performance by the Gorky National Academic Drama Theater and a screening of a sports movie in an open-air cinema.
The central venue of the festival on 3 June will be Lenin Square. Here, the fest "The Wealth of the Place" will highlight the cuisine, the structure and rituals of Brest Oblast. The exhibition and sale "Belarusian Brands" will present the products made by Belarusian manufactures, including those developed with the participation of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The Olympic race, which will draw together about 500 children under 9 years old, will precede the opening ceremony. It will be followed by tthe Olympic quest, one of the most anticipated activities. Everyone under the age of 14 will have the opportunity to take part in sports competitions, test their capabilities in various sports, complete tasks and receive valuable prizes. Activities will be organized across 50 locations. The festival will also present its new location "Games of our yard". The final of the regional leg of the new intellectual and educational project "Vytoki. Quiz” will feature teams from each district of Brest Oblast. The project will continue in each of the cities where Vytoki 2023 will take place.
The program of the second day also includes a show of apparel collections by Belarusian manufacturers, designers and entrepreneurs, a new song lyrics contest "Poems about life important things". The festival will also feature a vocal competition. Laureates will be awarded diplomas and prizes. The highlight of the festival this year will be a concert featuring Belarusian artists, fireworks and a disco.
Brest Oblast is hosting Vytoki for the first time. In the past the festival was held in Kobrin and Stolin. The organizers of the festival are the National Olympic Committee, the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, OOO Arthaos and OOO BelBrendAudit with the support of local authorities.
