Vladimir Shantarovich signs athletes' address

MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) – Head coach of the Belarusian national canoe sprint team Vladimir Shantarovich has signed an open address of famous Belarusian athletes, winners and medalists of the Olympic Games, world, European and national championships to the international and Belarusian public, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.

The outstanding coach understands how important it is to find mutual understanding within each team and build a constructive dialogue at the international level based on the example of the groundless suspension of the men's canoe sprint team from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games.

Vladimir Shantarovich is an honored coach of the BSSR. He trained Olympic canoe sprint champions Raman Piatrushenka and Vadzim Makhneu. During his coaching career Vladimir Shantarovich has trained 25 international masters of sports, 170 USSR and Belarus masters of sports. For his high sport results at the Beijing Olympics and his great personal contribution to the development of physical education and sport Vladimir Shantarovich was awarded the Order of Fatherland of II and III degrees, as well as the Order of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.
