Viktar Staselovich 6th at European Aquatics Championships

MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – Belarus' Viktar Staselovich finished sixth (24.89 seconds) in the men's 50m backstroke at the 2021 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, BelTA has learned.

Kliment Kolesnikov of Russia secured gold in 23.80 seconds. Silver went to Robert-Andrei Glinta of Romania (24.42), with Spain's Hugo Gonzalez de Oliveira taking bronze in 24.47.

Mikita Tsmyg did not make it into the final finishing 15th with the time of 25.36 seconds. Grigori Pekarski placed 30th in 25.69.

Ranomi Kromowidjojo of the Netherlands won the women's 50m freestyle event in 23.97 seconds. Pernille Blume of Denmark and Poland's Katarzyna Wasick claimed silver medals after touching in 24.17 seconds both.

The UK team of Thomas Dean, James Guy, Abbie Wood and Freya Anderson won the 4x200 mixed freestyle event in 7:26.67. Italy's Stefano Ballo, DI COLA Stefano Di Cola, Federica Pellegrini, and Margherita Panziera placed second in 7:29.35. Bronze went to Russia's quarter of Aleksandr Shchegolev, Alexander Krasnykh, Anna Egorova and Anastasia Kirpichnikova (7:31.54).
