MINSK, 7 March (BelTA) – Vera Lapko of Belarus has failed to reach the Indian Well main draw, BelTA informs.
World number 131 Vera Lapko lost 4-6, 6-3, 1-6 to Sofia Kenin of the United States, ranked 105 in the world, in the second qualifying game. The Belarusian saw off world number 74 Kateryna Bondarenko of Ukraine 6-0, 6-3 in the qualifying opener
Three Belarusian players will appear in the Indian Wells main draw. Aryna Sabalenka (World No.63) will take on world number 66 Varvara Lepchenko of the United States. Victoria Azarenka (World No.204), who got a wild card from the tournament's organizers, will face Heather Watson of the UK (World No.70). Aliaksandra Sasnovich (49) will play Magda Linette of Poland (61).
