UEFA officially postpones May final matches

MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) - The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has formally taken the decision to postpone the finals of its tournaments, originally scheduled for May 2020, BelTA has learned.

As a result of the COVID-19 crisis in Europe, the UEFA has postponed the UEFA Champions League Final which was due in Istanbul on 30 May, UEFA Europa League Final (Gdansk, 27 May) and the UEFA Women's Champions League Final (Vienna, 24 May). No decision has yet been made on rearranged dates. The working group, established last week as a result of the conference call among the stakeholders of European football, which was chaired by UEFA President, Aleksander Ceferin, will analyses the options available.

Earlier, the UEFA EURO 2020, as well as the final stages of the Nations League, and also the European youth and women's championships had been postponed to 2021.

In light of developments due to the spread of COVID-19, a number of futsal tournaments and upcoming events, including the 2020 UEFA Futsal Champions League finals in Minsk (24-26 April) have been postponed until further notice.
