Two-time world champion Mariya Lasitskene to take part in Minsk Christmas tournament

MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) - Two-time world champion Mariya Lasitskene, a Russian track and field athlete who specializes in the high jump, will take part in the Minsk Christmas tournament, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Athletics Federation.

This time the competitions will be held in an international format and will feature participants from Ukraine, Turkey, and Belarus.

Taking part in the competitions will be Yulia Levchenko, Katerina Tabashnik and Yaroslava Maguchikh from Ukraine, Karina Taranda, Mariya Zhodik, Yelizaveta Simanovich, Mariya Shulgina, Mariya Sivenko, Maksim Nedosekov, Pavel Seliverstov, Andrei Skobeiko, Dmitry Nabokov (all-Belarus), and Aset Alperen from Turkey. The competitions will be held on 23 December.

Kids Athletics IAAF finals will open the winter season in athletics on 20 December. Attending the tournament will be a delegation from Latvia.

The Christmas Starts will wrap up with a vertical run on 24 December. Taking part in the run will be professional athletes and amateur runners.
