MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) – Belarus clinched silver and bronze medals at the European U23 Sabre Cup in Budapest, BelTA has learned.
Palina Paspiarovich collected silver in the U23 Individual Female after securing four victories on her way to the podium. In the gold-medal event the Belarusian lost 7-15 to Katinka Battai Shugar of Hungary.
Belarus' Hanna Ivanishchanka and Katsiaryna Rahacheuskaya placed ninth and 12th in the final standings. The event featured 45 athletes from 12 countries.
Siarhel Kisel of Belarus clinched bronze in the U23 Individual Male. Tamas Desci of Hungary secured gold. His teammate Tamas Urban took silver. Csanad Gemesi of Hungary took the second bronze.
Maksim Pinchuk of Belarus placed 8th in the standings. The event featured 84 athletes from 11 countries.
