TOKYO, 4 August (BelTA) – Belarus' Vasilina Khandoshka and Darya Kulagina finished 11th in the Artistic Swimming Duet final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian athletes opened the final stage of the competition to score a total of 175.0101 points. Russia's Svetlana Kolesnichenko and Svetlana Romashina (195.9079) became the Olympic champions in the event. Svetlana Romashina, 31, became the world's first six-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming. She had previously won two golds at London 2012 and Rio 2016 and one at Beijing 2008. For her teammate it has become her second Olympic gold medal, the first one was secured in Rio.
Silver in the Artistic Swimming Duet in Tokyo went to China's Huang Xuechen/Sun Wenyan (192.4499). Ukraine's Martha Fiedina and Anastasiya Savchuk (189.4620) collected bronze.
The Artistic Swimming Team final is scheduled for 7 August.
