Tokyo 2020: No medals for Belarus in Modern Pentathlon Individual

TOKYO, 6 August (BelTA) – Belarus did not win medals in the Women's Modern Pentathlon Individual at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, BelTA has learned.

Anastasiya Prokopenko of Belarus scored a total of 1,342 points to place 8th after two competition days. Volha Silkina of Belarus finished 18th with 1,292 points.

Kate French of the UK clinched the champion title with 1,382 points. Silver went to Lithuania's Laura Asadauskaite (1,370 points). Hungary's Sarolta Kovacs took bronze with an overall of 1,368 points.

In the Men's Modern Pentathlon Individual event Belarus' Ilya Palazkov goes 3rd with 244 points after fencing. Joseph Choong of the UK and Russia's Alexander Lifanov lead the table with 250 points each. The medal event is due to take place on 7 August.
