Tokyo 2020: Belarus' Vitali Zhuk goes 14th after 8 decathlon disciplines

TOKYO, 5 August (BelTA) – Vitali Zhuk of Belarus goes 14th with a total of 6,737 points after eight disciplines at the Olympic decathlon tournament in Tokyo, BelTA has learned.

Damian Warner of Canada leads with 7,490 points. runner-up Ashley Moloney of Australia is the current runner-up with 7,269 points. Canada's Pierce LePage (7,175) goes third. The remaining two disciplines are javelin throw and 1,500m.

The competition program for 5 August includes three medal events in athletics. Belarus' Iryna Zhuk will compete for medals in the Women's Pole Vault. Aliaksandr Liakhovich will take part in the Men's 20km Walk. The third medal event for today is the Men's 400m.
