Tennis tournaments may resume after 13 July

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) and the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) have announced further suspension of tours due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, BelTA has learned.

Tennis tournaments have been earlier suspended until 7 June. The recent decision says that the pause in competitions will last at least until 13 July.

Wimbledon, which was due to take place from 29 June to 12 July, has been cancelled for the first time since 1945. The organizers plan that the next edition of the tournament will take place from 28 June to 11 July 2021.

The French Open, one of the four Grand Slam tournaments that was due on 18 May – 7 June, has been postponed until autumn. The Tournament organizers said they shifted it to 20 September – 4 October.

WTA and ATP have frozen the players' rankings.
