Team Belarus off to Poland for 4 Nations Cup 2019

MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian national handball team went off to Tarnow, Poland on 26 December to take part in the 4 Nations Cup 2019, the last competitions ahead of the 2020 EHF European Men's Handball Championship, BelTA has learned.

Coach of the Belarusian team Yuri Shevtsov has named a squad 17 players for the forthcoming competitions.

The Belarusian handball players held a training camp on 19-25 December at the Minsk Handball Center. In Tarnow Team Belarus will face Team UAE on 27 December, Team Spain on 28 December and Team Poland on 29 December. After the tournament the Belarusian team will return to Minsk and will travel for the 2020 European Men's Handball Championship on 7 January. The final roster for the European event will include 18 players.

The 2020 EHF European Men's Handball Championship will be the 14th edition of the tournament and co-hosted for the first time by three countries, Austria, Norway and Sweden from 9 to 26 January 2020. Belarus will play Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia in Group A (Graz, Austria). Two best-performing teams out of each of six preliminary quarters will advance to the main round.
