MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) – Belarusian fencer Stsiapan Koval claimed bronze at the European Cadet Circuit in Moedling, Austria, BelTA has learned.
The Minsker defeated competitors from Spain, the United States and France. In the quarterfinal Stsiapan Koval saw off Romania's Radu Nitu 15-9. In the next stage the Belarusian lost to Colin Heathcock of Germany 8-15 to secure bronze.
Nolan Williams of the United States won the event. Germany's Colin Heathcock took silver. His teammate Max Mueller claimed the second bronze of the tournament.

As for other Belarusian competitors, Yauheni Kazhaneuski finished 13th, Artur Halaidzenka 46th, Mikhail Prakopik 98th, and Ruslan Kupryianau 127th.
A total of 177 athletes from 20 countries competed for medals in Austria.
