MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) - Belarus' world number 71 Aliaksandra Sasnovich took the second victory at St Petersburg Open seeing off world number 58 Jaqueline Cristian of Romania, 6-2, 6-3, in slightly more than an hour, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian will next face either Latvia's world number 25 Jelena Ostapenko or Germany's world number 65 Andrea Petkovic. In the round of Last 32 the Belarusian beat Poland's world number 45 Magda Linette, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4.
In the doubles opener Belarus' Lidziya Marozava and Kaitlyn Christian lost to Slovakia-Norway duo Victoria Kuzmova and Ulrikke Eikeri, 6-7 (4-7), 4-6.
The tournament in St Petersburg will be over on 13 February.
