MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich (No.30) did not make it to the semifinal at the Brisbane International, BelTA has learned.
On 4 January, the Belarusian lost to Croatia's Donna Vekic (No.34) 2-6, 0-6 in the quarterfinal match. The match lasted only 57 minutes. Earlier in the tournament, Aliaksandra Sasnovich beat Russia's Anastasia Potapova (No.93) 6-4, 7-5 and Ukraine's Elina Svitolina (No.4) 6-4, 0-6, 6-3. In the semifinal, Donna Vekic will paly either Ajla Tomljanovic (No.46) or Karolina Pliskova (No.8).
Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (13) is through to the Shenzhen Open semifinals after she defeated Russian Maria Sharapova (29) on 4 January.
