Sasnovich loses in Guangzhou Open last 32

MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 50 Aliaksandra Sasnovich lost 4-6, 2-6 to Serbia's world number 123 Aleksandra Krunic in the Guangzhou Open round of last 32 in China, BelTA has learned.

In the doubles opener Belarus' Lidziya Marozava and Aleksandra Krunic will face the Russia-Kazakhstan tandem of Natela Dzalamidze and Elena Rybakina.

In the men's tournament in Sta. Petersburg, Russia two Belarusians went through the first qualifying round. World number 119 Egor Gerasimov defeated Alejandro Tabilo of Chile, world number 240, 6-0, 6-4. The Belarusian will next face Russia's world 233 Roman Safiullin. World number 135 Ilya Ivashka beat Russia's world number 414 Evgenii Tiurnev 6-1, 6-2 and will next play Italy's world number 204 Matteo Viola.

The tournament in Guangzhou will be over on 21 September. The competitions in St. Petersburg will complete on 22 September.
