MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 32 Aliaksandra Sasnovich is out of the 2018 China Open after a second-round defeat to World No.7 Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian lost 3-6, 4-6. The Czech player will next face China's world number 28 Wang Qiang.
In the China Open first round Aliaksandra Sasnovich secured a 6-3, 6-1 win over Romania's world number 23 Mihaela Buzarnescu.
Belarus' world number 16 Aryna Sabalenka progressed into the round of Last 16 after seeing off Spain's world number 15 Garbine Muguruza 7-5, 6-4 in the second round. Aryna Sabalenka will next play France's world number 8 Caroline Garcia.
The tournament in the Chinese capital will be over on 7 October.
